Scope and content
(From left to right) Loulou Pizzuto, Cikku Saliba 'Tal-Mejjiesa' and Carmen Pizzuto (Loulou's youngest sister) during the grape harvest.
Cikku Saliba 'Tal-Mejjiesa' had befriended the Pizzuto family when the latter had sought shelter at Dingli during the Second World War. Cikku's uncles had rented out a section of the cliff face to the Pizzuto family; a room was dug out for more space and a purpose-built wooden kitchen was constructed later on. Sometime in the 1950s, Government intended to requisition the area so Cikku had asked for the keys of the Pizzuto family plot which Loulou's father, Joseph, willingly handed over. It was later discovered that the area went to a certain Mr Pugliesevic for the storage of explosive material for the use of fireworks.
