Pawlu Vella ‘Tan-Nar’ was born in Mellieha on the 7th of December 1947. His father was a farmer, his mother a housewife and he had three sisters and four brothers. Pawlu worked as a farmer from 1963 till 2011 and was also an agriculture worker. His hobbies included fishing and rabbit hunting. He was married and had four children and had always lived in Mellieha.
