Scope and content
During the interview, Pawlu Vella ‘Tan-Nar’ talked about his fields at Rdum il-Qammieh. Wild rabbits determined what crops were planted. A variety of vegetables, including pumpkin and onions, were cultivated by using springwater. In addition, Pawlu enjoyed hunting for rabbits. Nets were set up early in the morning to stop them from reaching their burrows. Dogs were then unleashed to find the rabbits. He also recalled various incidents, such as when bullet fragments had accidentally hit his friend’s ear following the shooting of a rabbit. Besides rabbit hunting, Pawlu briefly discussed his other hobbies: fishing and bird hunting.
