Scope and content
In the second part of the second interview Michael recalled the bomb that had landed in front of the Point de Vue guesthouse just outside Mdina in 1942. This was housing British airmen at the time and had left a trail of devastation in the surrounding area. He talked about individuals who were rounded up by the state and interned and the remembered the arrest of the Maltese spy Carmelo Borg Pisani. Michael described the shelters whose unkempt conditions had accelerated the spread of scabies. People used to exit these shelters after after the 'all-clear' signal was sounded, but sometimes another air raid signal would be announced right after and they had to go underground again.
