Department: Customs. A Mr. F. Borg of Strada San Nicola, Valletta tendered the sum of £1.10.0 per annum for the licence for the use of tunny nets in the locality of Mellieħa Bay. Collector of Customs later stated that in spite of the tender being submitted 7 minutes after the time fixed in the notice this could be accepted in default of other competitors. No other tenders had been received for the other localities mentioned in said Notice. However it resulted that Mr. Borg's fittings were found to be in bad condition and repairs requested had not been effected and as the fishing season had arrived and repairs would not be ready for use at the proper time it was being recommended that this licence be given to Mr. Annibale Zammit who offered to pay £5 for the year.
