Department: Military. Colonel A.A.G. for C.S.O. is submitting a copy of agreement entered into by the Military Authorities with Messrs. G.P. Sammut & Co. for conveyance of troops, stores etc. to and from Gozo. This agreement covered the period of 12 months from 1.8.1898 but was being extended to 31.7.1900. Contract contains 11 clauses including the rates to be charged for every passenger, horses or baggage besides stores, parcels and packages 1st clause obliged contractor to having to convey any number of troops up to 1000 officers and men in any one day but not less than 50 each time with the other conditions following.
