Scope and content

The small pastel coloured image depicts jesus Christ holding the hand of a young person, most probably representing a nun and crowing her with a garland. Above, there is the symbols of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the Holy Spirit and white lilies meaning purity. This crowing still takes place when a young girl enters the convent to start her consecrated life. Overleaf, one finds a memento of the fiftieth anniversary of the founding of the Ursoline Sisters in Malta, also known as the Daughters of St Angela Merici, whose work is the upbringing of poor children.
