According to Jean Borg, Libyans used to swim in the nude at this section of the beach in Giorginpopoli while her family had lived there. When the authorities used to arrive at the scene to disperse the offenders, the Libyans used to make their escape by scaling the cliffs visible in the background of the photograph.
