Fr Edgar Salomone (1882-1969) was parish priest of Mgarr and was the driving force behind the building of its church, school, square and a civic centre. He had served in the Royal Army Chaplains' Department during the First World War and he was also Walter Salomone's brother, who at one time had been a Government Minister in the Strickland administration (1927-1930).
