Archival history

Born in Floriana, Mariuccia Quottromani received her education at St. Joseph High School, the Government School of Arts, the Teacher’s Training College, Chichester College (for floral teaching) and the Duffryn Conference Centre in Wales. Prior to taking up Floral Arts as a profession, Micallef-Grimaud studied piano and singing and worked as a professional teacher and script writer with Malta’s Education Department. Micallef-Grimaud is the first Maltese to hold a Diploma of Demonstrator in Floral Art, and has four Gold Medals to her credit. She has three personal exhibits and has also taken part in all collective exhibitions. Micallef-Grimaud is perhaps best known for the Biennale Performances in aid of the community Chest Fund. She is a world-renowned personality in this field and has won many International prizes in World Competitions. She is also a prize winner in Fashion-Designing. The World Association of Floral Art invited Micallef-Grimaud to give a demonstration at the prestigious Palais de Congres in Belgium and was also invited to give two other demonstrations in the U.K. Only recently, her greatest honours were added to her string of achievements when she was invited to visit New Zealand to sit on the International Panel of Judges and when H.S.H. Princess Caroline invited her to go to Monaco to form part of the jury for the Concours de Bouquets. Micallef-Grimaud is the first Maltese author to publish a book on Floral Art.
She is married to Aldo and they have three children.
