Scope and content

The image in a guilded border depicts the young St Tarcisius being helped by a Roman soldier after being pelted with stones by his schoolmates while taking the Holy Eucharist to some prisoners. In fact he died a martyr. This image is a memento commemorating the second solemn investiture of altar boys at the Msida Parish. There are listed the names of the Parish Priest, Director, Assistant Director, Prefect, and Vice Prefect as well as the names of the principal altar boys, reserves and aspirants. Altar boys were known as the 'piccolo clero.'
