Scope and content

The sepia-coloured image depicts the Archbishop of Milan St Carlo Borromeo (+1584) praying infront of the Holy Crucifix in a church. He was related to the Medici noble family and a great pioneer of the Council of Trent. His feast day is on the 4th of November and he is the patron saint of catechists. This is why overleaf one finds a rubber stamp in blue ink of the M.U.S.E.U.M. Sliema branch. Handwritten in blue ink, there is written the number '149.'
