The black and white image is a reproduction of the painting by Bartolomeo Montagna (d. 1523) of St Paul the Apostle. "You are a vessel of election" (from the Tract for the Feast of the Conversion of St Paul). This picture is in a fine red-coloured frame. This picture is a memento of the 1932 General Election in Malta when the Nationalist Party won. According to this memento, it was through the intercession of St Paul that Malta was protected from another "shipwreck."
