The image depicts Saint John of Capestrano (+1456), who was an Italian Franciscan Minor friar from L'Aquilia, famous as a preacher, inquisitor and theologian. He earned himself the nickname 'the Soldier Saint' when he led the last Crusade and thus was made the patron of military chaplains all over the world. He was canonised in 1690 and is commemorated on the 23 October, the date of his death. In this image, the saint is depicted with the coat of arms of Christ the King on a white flag in his left hand which holding the Crucifix in his right hand. This image is a memento commemorating the fifth centenary since his death. Overleaf, one finds an antiphon and a prayer in latin dedicated to the saint.
