Scope and content

Paulus Contestabile from Senglea testifies that in March 1662 Domenico Seychel had given him a slave belonging to Sr. Bernardina Carretto to be sold in Messina, which he sold at 120 bronze coins, which he have to Seychel and was given a notarised receipt (apoca by Not. Rizzi). He was not given any compensation for taking the slave to Messina or for medicine he had bought for her when she was unwell, but was later informed by Sr Bernardina had received less money, with Seychel claiming he had given him the rest as compensation. Rev. Paulus de Corpo, priest in Senglea, testifies in corroboration. Joseph Cumbo from Senglea and Laurentia Dancona from Senglea testify also.
