Scope and content

The black and white image shows a picture of Our Lady of the Belt better known in Maltese as il-Madonna tac-Cintura. She is depicted sitting a throne holding the Child Jesus in Her hand, flanked by St Augustine on Her left and St Monica, his mother, on Her right. These two saints spread the devotion towards Our Lady of the Belt. In fact, one of the parishes celebrating this feast in Malta is that of St Mark in Rabat which is taken care of by the Augustinian friars.
