              Captain Ludovico Bacchier and his crew members Francesco Spiteri, Hyeronimo Spiteri, Giuseppe Zahra, Mattheolo Grima, Giovanni Paulo Cassar, Didaco Camilleri, Giulio Pisani, Thomas de Sosa, Ludovico de Giuliano, Giovanni Maria Rizzo, Sebastiano Cachia, Michele Borg, Antonacio Circhop, Domenico Baldacchino, Valerio Spiteri, and Jacobo Bonnici are accused of abusing of their license to fly the flag of the Order and of sailing on corso, looting enemy vessels, despite not having licence to engage in privaterring. They had been engaged by the Order to run a separate and different mission to Sicily.

              Gusmano Bonnici and his son Thommaso explain how Gusmano had bought certain parcels of land and given them to his son as part of a marriage contract. The lands were burdened with dues (cens bullalis) towards Lazzaro Bonnici, and they had been imprisoned by the cessionarius Franciscus Surdo even though they had paid more in dues than they had garnered in income from the land. They ask to be released. Contractual history going back as 1549 given (see contract of 14/02/1549 and many other more recent ones establishing the cens bullalis and the various transfers of the same land.) The referenced contracts refer to several properties throughout the islands.

              Clara Farrugia, represented by her husband Josephus, prosecutes Johannes Burlo who had been left universal heir of the deceased Canon Rev. Petrus Burlo, and who had cheated her out of some money promised to her as dowry, and so owed. Copies of the will, in which various persons appear as witnesses due to the infirmity of the will-maker is enclosed in copy.

              Franciscus de Lauda prosecutes for the payment of due rent (from Cens Bullalis) owed by Josephus Cammenzuli. Contract from 11 January 1555 included by which Augustino Cumbo had conceeded animals in rent to Fra Petrus de Olivares of the langue of Castille. Other contracts establishing the claim (the land cannot be identified) are included.

              Johannes Domenicus Xiberras, medical doctor reports that he had bought certain lands from Julius Portelli (see Not. Ferdinandux Camenzuli - undated) but a certain Mettheolus Cuschieri was now claiming that that the capital of 200 scudi associated with cens bullalis with these lands were now his. The court found merit in Cuschieri's claim and ordered 111.3 scudi to be paid to him. See also doc. 3 in this same box.

Johannes Paulus Fenech (06/03/1639), including land called Ta Zebbeh, and another called Ta Halquissa in the area Ta Halquissa.
