The Greek Dragus Rastopolo, a sailor on the galley San Martino, is accused of trying to desert while the ship was in Zante and then of participating in an attempt to murder the galley's captain Fra Francesco Sigismondo Thun. Witness statements collected from the captain, the marines Lorenzo Cassar and Pietro Sammut. He was sentenced to row for life.

Jacobus de Mattheo, a buonavoglia rower on the galley San Martino is accused of desertion for failing to report back for duty when the Order's fleet were about to depart, spent the full time of the fleet's voyage in sanctuary at a Church and then tried to embark back as soon as the fleet had returned and claim that he had served. He is sentenced to 15 years rowing.

Vincenzo Lanza, a buonavoglia rower on the San Martino is accused of stealing some clothing (described) and a silver drinking glass from the house of Agostino Garsia in Valletta in the vicinity of the bastion of the Cavalier of St John. He was interrogated under torture. The sentence at the end pronounces that he was found innocent and released, but a note at the back claims that the Grandmaster during his annual Easter visit to the prisons commuted his sentence of incarceration to service upon the galleys.

While in the Sacra Infermeria to be treated for serious wounds to the head, Giovanni di Rosa testifies that he was assaulted by Battista de Francesco. Di Rosa eventually died of his wounds and De Francesco was sentenced to be hung until nearly dead outside the city walls and then to serve as rower for the rest of his life in chains and without remuneration.

He was wounded when trying to stop two Maltese soldiers from the galera San Martino from duelling with their swords. Many witness statements collected, providing information about maritime affairs and the Order's navy. The wound resulted in Darmanin's death. Cinthius Camilleri and Clemente Pansa were accused of complicity but acquitted. Giovanni de Munes was found guilty and exiled from Malta and Gozo for 10 years.

Paulo Valletta explains that six months before he had been a soldier aboard the galley San Martino and when they were in Syracuse he was compelled to stay behind as he was unwell. He had returned desirous of continuing with his service but was being accused of desertion and asks that he is allowed to prove his innocence in court.
