The cadaver of the late Notary Pietro Paulo Hagius was found in the street called La Strada delli Bastioni in Burmula and taken to his house in Vittoriosa. Suspicion fell upon Leonardo Chircop and Filippo Vella. Several interrogations and investigations. Final sentence not included but they were both incarcerated. Eventually Leonardo Chircop was granted leave to go corsairing.
