Parte di Law Courts Miscellaneous

Johannes Baptista Ferrari explains that he had been informed of a deadline of two days to carry out a sentence given by the TAR in favour of Antonius Lanfranco. However, Ferrari reports that they had settled out of court, and that the sentence was given later. He also reports that he was a resident of Casal Paola and therefore enjoyed the privilege conceded to residents of that place in relation to debts, and so he could not be prosecuted for debt.

He exhcnaged his goods and money for rice and other listed commodities but his vessel of passage was intercepted by Fra Guglielmo Di Bernardo and his vessel which looted him illegally. MT NAM LCM · Fondo · 1500s-1798

The Law Courts Miscellania is a fond containing loose documentation arising from the juridical activities of the various courts and tribunals operating in the Maltese islands during the Order of St John Period, from the arrival of the Order in Malta in 1530 to their departure in 1798. The cases heard before these courts provide valuable information about different aspects of general, commercial and military life in Malta. Most documentation in this collection is in Latin and Italian, but documentation in other languages such as Spanish, French, Arabic and Greek is occasionally included.
