Scope and content

The sepia-coloured image depicts the Holy Eucharist and it's symbols on an altar with the Missal open wide on a quote from the Gospel of Matthew 16:18 ""You are 'Rock' and on this rock I will build my Church...." This quotation is to be found around the base of the dome of St Peter's Basilica in Rome. In fact, this Basilica is depicted as well on this image in the background. It is a memento commemorating the installation of Dun Mattew Chircop as Parish Priest of the Parish dedicated to St Caetan in Hamrun. Overleaf, one finds a prayer of supplication, asking God through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary and St Caetan to bless the new Parish Priest as well as his parishioners
