The colourful, round-cornered image depicts the Blessed Virgin Mary watching over Her Son, the Child Jesus who is lying down in a field, among white lilies, symbolising purity. Overleaf one finds a quote from the Writings of St John Chrysostom (an early Church Father and Archbishop of Constantinople [+407] This image is a memento of the "Day dedicated to Purity," in favour of morality, by praying continuously for morality to reign in the world. This was taken up by the female Sliema branch of the Catholic Action, better known as the Immaculate Circle.
