Scope and content

The nightwatchman Leonardus Mifsud reports finding six small boats (barche di Piscare) in Marsaxlok, which boats were unaccompanied and had their oars and other equipment on them. He confiscated the boats and they were now being kept at the Manderaggio of Saint Angelo. What had happened was that since the construction of the tower of Marsaxlokk (presumably San Luciano), fishermen had taken up the habit of leaving the boats on the shore on Sundays while they heard mass within the tower, watching over the bay with the guardsmen. The confiscated boats were their own and they asked for them back.
