Item 20 - De Homicidio - contra Marcellum de Vincentio Militem Triremis S(ancti) Nicolai

While the Order's galley San Pietro was in Messina, the Corporal Pietro Psayla and the musketeer Francesco Mifsud fired their muskets to salute the Papal standard, as was customary, but discovered they were shot upon, the corporal in the chest, and the musketeer in the foot, for which they received treatment at the hospital of Messina. Psayla later died of his wounds. Suspicion fell upon Marcello de Vincentio, a soldier aboard the San Nicola, which was also in Messina as the galleys of the Order were away on Corso. Contains the rolls of enrollment for both galleys. The matter seems to have been an accidental missfire and there's no sentence.
