Loulou and her sister Carmen Pizzuto are standing beside a well in a field. Water is being drawn by a woman in the centre. The Pizzuto sisters were wearing black dresses as they had been mourning their mother's death. Eleonora Pizzuto nee Micaleff had died on 18th January, 1951.
Loulou Pizzuto and two of her sisters, Carmen (centre) and Dorothy picking and eating mulberries from a tree. The trees were in a private field beneath Dingli Cliffs and they belonged to Ganni 'Tal-Marida, a farmer from the nearby village. Ganni used to trust the Pizzuto family to help themselves to fruit as they had never stolen anything.
